Multicultural stories

When Amina had to flee her home in Aleppo, Syria, she was devastated to depart with her much-loved English language centre, which she had run for many years. After arriving in Melbourne as a refugee, she gained qualifications to teach in Australia and has been giving back ever since.

When Lynn’s parents brought her to Australia from Taiwan at the age of 19, they were seeking a better education and better future for her. Now a successful businesswoman, Lynn is giving these opportunities back to others.


CEO of Human Facets, Helen has a 25+ year successful track record in the field of Global Inclusion. She is an internationally recognized Thought Leader on Unconscious Bias, global inclusion and diversity.

Social Inclusion Week aims to help all Australians feel included and valued, giving everyone the opportunity to participate fully in society.

The Cultural Atlas -  a collaborative project between SBS, International Education Services (IES), and Multicultural NSW. 

"The Cultural Atlas provides a unique opportunity for users to gain a broad understanding of the norms and behaviour that would generally be familiar to people from the culture of description." From Afghanistan to Zimbabwe.
